    Kathryn J. Trenholm, DVM, MS - Owner, Veterinarian

    Kathryn has been a practicing veterinarian at the Ayer Animal Medical Center since 1988 and practice owner since 1995.  She graduated from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1988.  She has a Bachelors Degree in Animal Science from the University of Maine and a Masters Degree in Pathobiology from the University of Connecticut.  Her interests are in geriatric medicine, renal disease, and dentistry.  Her hobbies include reading, hiking, fishing, and needlework. Kathryn is a proud mom of one son. She and her family are avid college hockey fans and go to many UMaine games. She also loves to vacation in Maine. She has 5 cats as of right now but that could change any day!

    Lee Carpenter, DVM - Veterinarian

    Lee Carpenter has practiced at the Ayer Animal Medical Center since 1991. After graduating second in the class of 1985 from the University of California at Davis, she interned at the Sacramento Animal Medical Group. Prior to veterinary school, she worked at the University of California, San Francisco, in Reproductive Endocrinology, primarily in breast cancer research. Her special interests include geriatrics, greyhounds and pocket pets. Lee lives with her husband, two nearly-grown sons, an elderly dog with bad habits and a cat with a sense of humor. She enjoys reading, gardening, miniature making and weekends at Newfound Lake.

    Dianna Larrabee - Office Manager, Veterinary Technician

    Dianna came to the Ayer Animal Medical Center from a practice in Ashland, MA. She is currently enrolled at Penn Foster College working toward her associates degree in their Veterinary Technician program. She has a keen interest in animal behavior and will be continuing her education to become a certified animal behavior technician. she is the proud mom of 6 (yes, 6) kids and blessed nana of 5 grandchildren and counting! She has her own zoo of much loved animals, mostly rescues, including dogs, cats, ferrets, a rabbit, rats and chickens.

    Bobby Joe Belair - Head Veterinary Technician

    Bobby Joe has been a Veterinary Technician at the Ayer Animal Medical Center since 2004. She came to us after working as a Certified Nurses Aide in area nursing homes. She is the proud mother of a young daughter and an accident prone Husky named Kataya. If Kataya could speak she would say how greatful she is for all the care she has received after her many incidents.

    Alan Britenbucher - Veterinary Technician

    Alan has been working in veterinary clinics since he was 20 years old, and considers being a technician a calling and not a job. Alan attended the University of Maine where he studied zoology. His main interest in veterinary medicine is assisting in surgeries, especially orthopedic procedures. He has a spoiled 7 year old lab/rottweiler mix named Hannah. Alan enjoys going on hikes and spending time outdoors, and Hannah is always by his side. Alan is also a huge sports fan who roots for the Boston Red Sox, Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Browns, and Ohio State football.

    Melissa Domina, CVT - Veterinary Technician

    Melissa has been a veterinary technician for the last ten years after graduating from Becker College.  She switched her focus from sports medicine to veterinary technology in high school after her first dog got sick and she had such a good experience with an amazing veterinarian, who had opened her eyes to the veterinary world.  Her hobbies include spending time with her family and friends, ballet, soccer, and shopping.  Melissa currently has two very high-maintenance and talkative Shetland sheepdogs: a spoiled 12-year-old named Wild Bill Cody and a demanding 5-year-old Jordan.

    Mike Santasieri - Veterinary Technician

    Mike is currently a student working towards his bachelors degree in Veterinary Science with a concentration in Clinical Medicine at Becker College.  He is also a dog trainer and has a great interest in behavior and behavioral medicine.  Mike is a member of both the Association for Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) as well as the Society for Veterinary Behavior Technicians (SVBT).  In his free time, Mike is active on campus and involved in many student clubs and organizations.

    Ashley Pope - Veterinary Assistant

    Ashley is currently a student at Becker College, working toward a Bachelors Degree in Veterinary Science with a Pre-Veterinary Concentration. In her free time Ashley enjoys training and riding horses.

    Carli came to us from Indiana, where she was a dental assistant. She went to Indiana Tech for Psychology, and eventually wants to get into animal behavior. She grew up on a farm, and is accustomed to working with large animals. She was a horse and rider trainer prior to coming to Massachusetts, and hopes to get back into the large animal business at some point in the future. She has one dog, Jayda who she adopted five years ago. Her hobbies include training horses and camping.

    Peter is currently a student at Mount Wachusett Community College pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement to further his career in animal rescue. He is also the proud owner of an American Pitbull Terrier named Tawni, and recently adopted a kitty named Oreo.
